College Preparatory Math
Welcome to College Preparatory Math (College Ready Math)
As part of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI), Texas law requires students entering college to have readiness in math. This course will help students to become college ready in mathematics. It addresses a variety of mathematical topics needed to prepare students for success in college level mathematics. In addition, this course supports students in developing skills and strategies needed to succeed in college. If a student becomes college ready by reaching any of the minimum scores listed below and have a fourth math class, they may exit the course. All scores need to be reviewed by counselors who then determine the exit process. Minimum Scores: ACT- 23 composite with 19 in Math SAT- 530 Math TSI - 350 Math Your student’s successful participation in this course is necessary as college readiness is a requirement for entrance into any Texas public college or university. The easiest way to exit the course is to achieve the minimum score on the Math section of the TSI offered on our campus. The schedule will be posted on the Cedar Ridge website as soon as it is finalized. Your student was given the TSI assessment in previous school year through their math course. The test was paid for by the school. Your student is placed in this course at this time due to a failure to meet the minimum score on the test. Therefore, the student is responsible for the cost to retest at $10 for the math portion only. If students prefer to not take the College Preparatory Math course noted above, please contact the counselor. |
